Goodbye Scandinavia

I had an amazing experience and time in Scandinavia! I had an opportunity to go as an alum and I took it!

My favorite parts of the trip were going to  the museum that had a polar bear in this cold doorway thing like you were trapped by ice and the doors opened by itself in Oslo! I also liked going to the opera, Dead Man Walking because I have never been to an opera before!

Another place I liked was going to the Abba Museum because I like their music and the movie “Mamma Mia” which has their music in it! I got to see the clothes they actually wore.  There were a couple of games you could play with their songs! We did karaoke and danced to their songs!

Later that night, I went to the ice bar which was another different experience! I have never been to one before! I went with Gigi, her mom and daughter Kate. It was very fun! 😀 Everything was made of ice down to the benches, floors, walls and tables and even the glasses used for the drinks! I had a nonalcoholic one that was Orange and blue Curaçao called “Crow Chick!”

I also liked going to the Nobel Peace center in Oslo! At one point, Malala Yousafzai’s face was on every one of the screens and lit up as her Nobel Peace prize speech was said! She was one of the most recent prize winners! I liked going there because I was in the Shalom Club when I was at Mount Mary and the center is about peace.

Wow, so many interesting experiences! Did you sit on the ice benches? Was it freezing? I definitely want to go – being in a room made from all ice sounds magical 🙂
